Course Summary
This course aims to cultivate students’ ability to materialize design concepts, with a strong emphasis on product drafting and visual communication skills. By introducing the interface and basic drawing tools of Adobe Illustrator, students will be trained to depict product outlines and details. The course progresses step by step, from simple consumer electronics such as the Nintendo Switch and iPhone to classic industrial designs like the Braun coffee maker, thereby enhancing both drawing and observational skills.
The course also integrates principles of design composition and layout concepts, reinforcing the completeness and visual aesthetics of students’ works. Through hands-on practice, students will learn to observe object structures and material properties, improving design sensitivity and aesthetic literacy while understanding the fundamental workflow of design practice.
