About the Center

In order to integrate teaching resources effectively and develop teachers' professional capacity, Asia University has established the Teaching Resources and Faculty Development Center (Henceforth, the TRFD Center ). Its main tasks are:

1•  To promote teachers' professional competencies (including holding new faculty orientation, teacher mentor system, instruction, research, publication, serving, promoting and following up).

2•  To supervise the progress and effects of the Teaching Excellence Project.

3•  To promote teachers' academic activities and the progress of professional research groups.

4•  To integrate and plan the teaching resources.

In order to promote teachers' instructional capacity, Asia University has regulated the Major Steps for Promoting Teachers' Professional Academic Development which has set up a meeting schedule at three levels (school-level, college-level and basic-professional-level) and submit all the minutes of the meetings to the immediate higher relevant offices to follow up.

Besides, in order to motivate teachers to constantly learn, the TRFD Center required that since the teachers report to duty, they must acquire 10 hours retraining. The TRFD Center has issued the Teachers' Passport for In-Service Education to record teachers' in-service retraining credits each year.
